SENIOR SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT OFFICER, NYC GRADE ‘5’ – ONE (1) POST

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must:

  1. Have Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Procurement and Supplies Management, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  2. Have Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or equivalent
  3. Have a minimum of four (4) years relevant work experience
  4. Be Member of professional body either KISM or CIPS in good standing;
  5. Have a Certificate in supervisory Skills lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
  6. Have a valid practicing license;
  7. Have demonstrated professional and administrative competence as reflected in work performance and results;
  8. Knowledge in ERP system will be an added advantage;
  9. Have proficiency in computer application skills; and
  10. Fulfill the requirements of Chapter six of the Constitution

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail: –

  1. Developing and coordinating the preparation of annual procurement and disposal plans and their implementation;
  2. Coordinating procurement and disposal activities in the Commission;
  3. Prepare contract documents for goods, works and services;
  4. Custodian of contract documents;
  5. Liaise with the user department to ensure effective implementation of contracts for goods, works and services;
  6. Provide secretariat to committees’ incidental to procurement of goods and services, and disposal of assets;
  7. Coordinate disposal of assets activities;
  8. Provide professional opinion on procurement of goods, works and services and disposal of assets;
  9. Prepare and Submit statutory reports to relevant government institutions; and
  10. Reviewing procurement needs of the Council.
  11. Monitoring and evaluating of procurement plans, Asset disposal and inventory management;
  12. Development of Departmental Work plan and Budget;
